Last week, we introduced you to the latest Speedriven-tuned CL600 to roll out of our shop in Palatine, Illinois- and, while we showed off the car’s dyno performance and speculated that it would be a ten-second car, we didn’t have the time slips to back it up. Luckily, the car’s owner wasted no time in getting his 830+ WHP Mercedes-Benz CL600 onto a track. The result: Speedriven set a new 1/4 mile record.
With back-to-back runs of 10.576 and 10.573 with the car’s traction control kicking in, the big, ethanol-fueled Mercedes-Benz proved itself to be both incredibly fast and incredibly consistent in real-world conditions. Either of those times would have been good enough to claim the CL600 record, but it’s the slower 10.576 second time- with the Speedriven CL600 crossing the line some eleven MPH faster than the next-quickest CL600 on record- that really got our attention!
You can see that record-setting run in the video, below, and contact us at our Palatine, Illinois location by using this link or the contact information at the bottom of the page.
